Spring Cleaning?

Okay, you know this hint of Spring weather has got you…you have closets overflowing with stuff you keep shoving in every time company is coming…

Now is your chance to free up some space in your home and help the park…

The Commercial Park Garage Sale is BACK!!! This year we have moved it up to March 26th and 27th so you need to get started!  We also have two ways to participate:

Option 1:  Donate your stuff to the park. We will sell it and use the money for free programming and playlot improvements.  We can”t start taking your stuff until March 21st so please hang on to it and bring it over the week before the sale.  No adult clothing, please.

Option 2:  Buy a table and sell your things. We will provide you with a table and space for displaying.  We will do the advertising for you.  This way you don’t have to beg people to venture down your alley!  Tables are $30 for the weekend.  The best part….Leave your stuff behind.  We will take care of all the leftovers!  Email Georgia Burke at georgiaburke@gmail.com if you would like to sign up for a table.

So, don’t just sit there!  Use these chilly March days to clean house so that when the warmer days arrive you can open the windows and relax!

CPAC Celebratory Meeting and Annual Elections

Please join us Tuesday June 15th at 7:30 Commercial Park Advisory Council Meeting in the field house .

Open to the public and a great way to find out what is going on at the park.

This meeting is particularly special as it is time to bid  a fond farewell to Kate Mell and Dave Stumm, two very long-time supporters of the park, who are, sadly, moving away.  Kate and Dave were instrumental in starting the Commercial Park Advisory Council 10 years ago (going on 11) and have been crucial to the success of events like the Holiday Party,  Halloween Party and the  Garage Sale Fundraiser.  Together they have worked tirelessly to make Commercial Park and huge asset to the East Village neighborhood.  They will surely be missed.

We also have board nominations coming up in July with elections in August.  This year’s available positions are President, Treasurer and Publicist.  We will also be filling a newly vacant secretary position.  These positions hold a two-year term and anyone interested is urged to come Tuesday to get all the details.

Agenda items:
Thank you Kate & Dave and other outgoing board members
Board Nominations
Movie in the Park details
Kid Fest updates and info
Wine Tasting planning update
Follow-up details from the successful Beer Tasting at Small Bar
Reports on local playlots
