2023 events

- Movies in the Park: TOP GUN MAVERICK Thursday, August 17, 2023 (Just in time for the Air & Water Show!) 8:00 p.m., Commercial Park field. (Start time may change based on Chicago Park District and dusk- come early!)
- Stand Up to Hate Playdate: Saturday, August 26th, 2023, noon- 3 p.m. Presented by Stand Up to Hate.
- Blocktoberfest: Saturday, September 9, 2023, Noon – 4 p.m., Commercial Park and 1800 block of W. Rice Street.
- Halloween: Saturday, October 28, 2023, 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. with costume and candy parade starting at 3:30 p.m.
- Santa & S’mores: Saturday, December 9, 2023, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.; there will still be a bonfire (weather cooperating, of course)
2024 events
- Movie in the Gym: Friday, February 2, 2024. Movie and time TBA (but will be held in the early evening.)
- WINTER BALL: New event! Saturday, March 2, 2024, 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Come lose the winter blues with a family friendly dance party in the gym!
- Egg Hunt: Saturday, March 30th, 2024; times of the age-based egg hunts TBA, but will be in the morning.
- Earth Day Cleanup: Saturday, April 20, 2024; 10 a.m. until noon with lunch after for volunteers. Come clean and weed with us. (Not the first joke about the date you’ll hear and definitely not the last.)
ONGOING EVENTS
- Green Team Growers: Every other Monday @ 4 p.m. at Snowberry (May through August- ON PAUSE)
- Storytime: Chicago Public Library will be holding storytime outside at the park on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. through September, 2023.
- Commercial Park Advisory Council Meetings: 3rd Monday of the month @ 6:30 p.m. Open to all. Meetings are currently held over zoom- please email us for the link.)
