Circus in the Parks will return to Commercial Park October 6 and 7!  Circus in the Parks was a wonderful community event that brought significant funds for park improvements.  We are honored to be hosting again in 2012.

You can help!  One source of fundraising related to Circus in the Parks is the ad book.  If you’re a business owner, please consider purchasing an ad.  Please send suggestions for community businesses and organizations that we should solicit to Ronda Locke.  Please click here for a letter summarizing the Circus in the Parks ad book, and a form for ad purchasing.  Ads are due by the end of August!  Contact Ronda Locke if you are interested in purchasing, as well.

Thanks to all for an enjoyable and successful Earth Day!  Clean-up was completed throughout the neighborhood and at our parks.  Children and adults learned about sun safety, blue-bin recycling, cloth diapers and chickens at Commercial Park.  Thanks to the Advisory Council for their work putting together this community event.  And special thank to Christy Webber and Jeannie Felknor for helping with garden plantings, seeds and peat pots  and live chickens. Join us for Commercial Park’s Earth Day Clean-Up and Celebration on April 21!  Activities to include:

–       9 am check-in for neighborhood clean-up

–       10:30 – 12:30 activities in the park:

1) Sun safety/dermatologist craft and info table

2) Seed planting

3) Green team garden bed planting

4) info table on mural to be installed this summer at the park

5) info table on cloth diapers, and Great Cloth Diaper Change at 11:30am

6) Blue Bin Recycling

–       12:30 Lunch
