Commercial Park is collecting for the 2nd Annual Operation: Help a Hero!
In the United States, it is estimated that there are over 39,000 homeless veterans. When these veterans are placed in permanent housing, they often don’t have basic household essentials. This is where Operation: Help a Hero comes in.
Together with the American Red Cross, the Chicago Park District is asking Chicagoans to please donate these basic household items as a small gesture of thanks to our veterans for their service and sacrifices.
Commercial Park has a collection box set up in the field house, and we will be collecting items through July 3rd. A complete list of items needed is listed below. New and unused items only, please!
