Help us support One Tail at a Time’s foster programs and Pet Mutual Aid Society! Please bring your donations of unopened cat food or dog food to the Commercial Park field house M-F from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. from now until the end of the year. The donation box is located inside the second doors of the field house entrance. (The unopened part of the donation is important- it’s a park. Little kids. Also I don’t want to be responsible for rats getting inside the building, so… thank you for your unopened donations of food to this wonderful cause!!!)

You know it, you love it, it’s Halloween at Commercial Park! Join us on Saturday, October 28th from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. for pumpkin painting, crafts, games, face painting, story time with our friends from the Chicago Public Library, hot chocolate and churros from The Stop Along, and of course, the trick-or-treat parade around the block!

NEW THIS YEAR: Barcocina (1814 W. Chicago Ave.) has generously offered to donate 10% of their food and beverage sales to the Commercial Park Advisory Council when you visit them between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on October 28th when you mention Commercial Park. So after the party, go get some grown-up treats at Barcocina and tell them we sent you! Support your local park and your local margaritas!

Got a bunch of Halloween costumes your kids have outgrown? Find them a new home at our (now) annual Costume Drive! Drop off your unused or gently used costumes at the Commercial Club Park field house office between now and Friday, October 27th and we will make them available to anyone looking for a costume upgrade during our (amazing, fabulous, phenomenal) Halloween Party & Parade on Saturday, October 28th!

The field house is open between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday to Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Kid- and Adult-sized costumes are welcome; please make are they are clean (in every sense of the word). Thanks!!

Join the Commercial Park Advisory Council as we send off summer with our annual, epic, neighborhood block party! We will be closing off the 1800 block of Rice Street and opening up the park for an afternoon of fun, including food from the Stop Along, an ice cream truck(!), a special performance from the School of Rock, activities with the Chicago Public Library and, of course, The Bounce House. The party is free (but donations are welcome!) Save the afternoon!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

• Noon until 2 p.m.: Lunch by The Stop Along
• 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.: Performance by The School of Rock
• 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.: Ice Cream Truck!
• And of course, games and activities and The Bounce House for the whole event!
